Elementary, where the questions get bigger.
TK, Kindergarten & 1st Grade · Ages 5–7. The "age of reason" — when children want to know how and why about everything, and a rich curriculum rises to meet their curiosity.

From "what" to "why."
Around age six, children enter what Maria Montessori called the second plane of development — the age of reason. They are no longer just absorbing facts; they want to understand how the world fits together. Our Elementary program gives that curiosity real room to grow, with advanced materials and a genuinely broad curriculum.
What your child develops here
Independent thinkers, strong communicators

Deeper academics
Reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics extend into literature, geometry, and beyond.

Reasoning
Children explore the how and why — testing ideas, drawing conclusions, thinking for themselves.

Self-direction
Advanced materials and real responsibility build motivation and independent work habits.

Character
The elementary years are where children learn to own their choices and their actions.
A vast curriculum
The whole universe, opened up
Elementary children work with advanced Montessori materials across a remarkably broad curriculum — often reaching well beyond their grade level, because the work grows with their curiosity. Science, history and social studies begin early here and are studied broadly, because that breadth is how the Montessori curriculum is built.

Mathematics
Math, geometry, and early algebra — concrete first, then abstract.

Language
Reading, writing, literature, and grammar.

Sciences
Zoology, botany, chemistry, and geology — hands-on, and begun in the earliest years.

Geography & Social Studies
The continents, the cultures and histories on them, and the stars above.

How we track progress
Individual guidance, shared face to face
Our teachers present materials to each child individually or in small groups, meeting them at their own level and pace, and record what each child is working on day by day. We hold two parent-teacher conferences each year, where we walk you through the work your child has done, where they are in each area, and what comes next.
Alongside the academics, the elementary years are where children build a moral foundation and learn to be responsible for their own actions — growing into thoughtful, capable young people.
Common questions
Elementary, answered
What grades does the Elementary program cover?
Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and 1st grade — roughly ages 5 to 7.
Is the curriculum really that broad?
Yes. Elementary children work across mathematics, geometry, language, literature, the sciences (zoology, botany, chemistry, geology), geography, history and social studies, astronomy, and the arts — that breadth is part of the Montessori curriculum itself, with advanced Montessori materials that make each subject concrete.
How do you track academic progress?
Through daily observation and record-keeping rather than standardized testing. Teachers track each child's progress area by area as they work with the materials, and we hold two parent-teacher conferences each year to walk you through where your child is in each subject and what comes next.
My child came from a traditional classroom — can they still join?
Every child is met where they are. Because teaching is individualized, a child new to Montessori is guided at their own pace rather than pushed to keep up with a group.
